Annoying things about being pregnant...

10. People telling me "you're not fat, you're just pregnant." I don't care what the reason is, my clothes don't fit anymore so I feel fat!

9. Being starving one minute and then completely full after 4 bites of something. Then hungry again 10 minutes later.

8. Feeling like a bloodhound every time I catch a whiff of food because I just HAVE to find out what it is and where it's coming from.

7. Having an aversion to chocolate. CHOCOLATE!

5. My back hurts ALL THE TIME.

4. When people freak out if I try to lift anything at all (come on people, my PURSE weighs more than that box).

3. Being so exhausted that I have to go to sleep by 7pm, then tossing and turning all night because I just can't get comfortable.

2. Craving fresh fruit 2 or 3 times a day. Do you KNOW how much fresh fruit costs in Hawaii?

1. If I'm not nauseous or exhausted, I have a migraine... which makes me nauseous and exhausted.

Oh yeah! 6. Being forgetful!

Updated Movie List...

The "Movies we are looking forward to..." list has been updated. You can now click on the title of a movie to go to IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and check out plot synopsis, cast members, trailers, etc. Although, if the movie isn't coming out in the very near future (i.e. within 3-6 months) there most likely will NOT be a trailer available for viewing. 

Updated Baby Names

Just a small announcement:

In case you haven't noticed, we figured out how to turn the baby names list into an actual poll. Feel free to cast your vote (but only one per person, we are keeping track)! 

We are going in for our first ultrasound on March 9th and will (hopefully) find out at that time whether we are having a boy or a girl. The poll will close the next day. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

We decided to spend our Valentine's Day at Sea Life Park. Of course, Michael didn't realize the reason I made the suggestion was because my gift to him was a swim with the stingrays. :) I'm so sneaky!

Since I had booked an early morning encounter we were actually allowed into the park before they opened. We were able to walk around the park and see the animals being warmed up for their afternoon shows. 

Here is Leonora the seal practicing her dive and flip routine. I got the whole thing on camera!

This is a giant 3 story circular aquarium with a spiral viewing area from top to bottom. Inside the tank are a bunch of colorful fish (blah) and STINGRAYS which, of course, Michael loved. 

After the aquarium was the sea turtle enclosure. The park sells turtle food to visitors and since we were the first ones in the park, they were very eager to greet us!

Next we came upon the laziest seals in the world. The first one reminded us a lot of Stinky (our dog). All he did was lay there; though every once in a while he would take a swipe at the other seal who wanted to share his beach.

When we went to lunch and Michael was picking up the food, this cute little guy decided to keep me company. Although I think he was hoping for scraps.

My favorite and most dissapointing part of the day was watching the dolphins play. I love how dolphins turn everything into a game and are all about having fun. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I'm pregnant or whatever, they wouldn't let me swim with them. Very upsetting. 

The last stop before the stingray encounter was the tropical penguin pool (when Michael and I win the lottery we are going to own some of these penguins). 

Hey guys, it's Michael here now. I'll be narrating this part. First off, thank you AJ, this was an AWESOME suprise! For those of you who are not aware, I'm kind of a stingray fanatic. Especially once they stabbed that crocodile guy. Man I hated him!

You can't see it, but at the bottom of this pool are 6 HUUUUUGE stingrays. We're talking 5' from wingtip to wingtip! Since nobody else had booked the early morning encounter, the handler gave me time to just snorkle with the rays. It was cool but I kept thinking about that annoying crocodile guy getting stabbed in the heart. Apparently the stingrays didn't think I was nearly as annoying as him because they mostly ignored me, thus ensuring my survival. All in all, it was an awesome Valentine's Day.

Welcome to our blogspot! We decided to start this page because now that we have a kid (aka Stinky Jr.) on the way, this seemed the quickest and most convenient way to keep everyone updated and included. Plus, there's this crazy rumor going around that having a kid somehow decreases your free time.

Please feel free to leave comments at any time, though be warned in advance spelling and grammar DO count and dumb posts will be made fun of.

There is a game for your entertainment that we are more than happy to cover the cost of (since it's free), so please play to your heart's content.

One Last Hoorah

As previously mentioned during orientation, we have heard a rumor from several questionnable sources that having a kid takes up all your free time. So we decided to take one last trip without kids or dogs, just the two of us... er... 2.25 of us. For this vacation, we decided to go to the Big Island. That's right, for our vacation from Hawaii, we went to - Hawaii. 

We stayed at the Kiluaea Military Camp in Volcano National Park, a military recreation camp. Michael loved it because it was cold all the time and we had a fireplace in the room. Every night was spent reading in front of the fire. Very relaxing. Plus, I didn't have to work AT ALL, so that's always good. 

Michael's favorite part of the trip was seeing an actual LIVE volcano (no lava though, because apparently the fumes are hazardous to the baby. And I guess to us, too). 

He even got out of the car at one point to take a mile and a half hike to an old lava flow. 

My favorite part of the trip was completely unscheduled. We saw a sign for the black sand beach and thought it might be cool to check it out. And it was okay, whatever, the sand was black. Blah blah blah. Until I noticed the AWESOME sea turtles just chilling on the beach! 

The most dissapointing trip for both of us was the bird park. It was supposed to be full of rare, native hawaiian birds which we heard but never saw. What it was actually full of was desolate landscape and one very nosy rooster.

Our final trip was to the zoo. We had heard that they had a rare, white tiger so we decided to stop by on our way to the airport. The zoo was not the biggest or the best we'd ever been to, but they did have the white tiger and admission was free. 

A big thank you to Gina who took care of our dogs and fish and cleaned our house while we were gone. We appreciate it so much!
